offsite link Thank Lockdowns for the Worst Budget in History Sat Nov 22, 2025 13:00 | Will Jones
We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

the sunday Papers

category international | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Sunday March 07, 2004 15:21author by ipsiphi Report this post to the editors

don't worry.

It has long been observed that the mass on their non banking days readily absorb shite.
This is why coups are most successful on the weekend, and elections as well.
It is on your non-banking days that you are presented with the most filagree woven tissues of spirit and lie, ghost and truth.
It is through weekend that we have considerable space in your head.

Regime Change.
"is the theme"

Word from famous people:-
Aristide from Central Africa, evokes memories of exiled former presidents for more than forty years, nods and winks @ that very under-studied role model Toussaint L'overture, and poses questions of a very different set of offices and budgets in Virginia Langley and Vauxhall.
You'll get that.

Eoin Rice imprisoned by nasty judge Mangan, "at his own volition", and who has held a full fast for a period of over two weeks, has been released by nice Judge Herbert, in time for full moon on Tara, (00h24CET) and the Fianna Fail ard fheís.
He is reported to be "overjoyed". We must all ensure he gets more overjoyed.

Tara is being threatened by nasty road builders again, as the Fianna Fail ard Fheís opens under the slogan "Builders, Constructors and Leaders". Tara is not the only neolithinc/paleolithic site threatened by a cabal of ignorance and sinister gain in Europe. It is felt that a common European strategy shall be the response.

The team of the Sunday Papers hopes that all readers have a good week absorbing the shite, be they dingbats, pacifists, members of the European Neutral Block, Anarchists, Reds, Virtual Warriors, Liars, Socialists, Patriots, USGreens, antiBush campaigners, Anti-Genetic campaigners, Women, Wimyn, Girls and Grandmothers, Catholics, Voudoo priests, Protestants even black ones, Jewish people and Muslims, Drugusers (recreational and problem), Prisoners, Workers (blue collar, white collar, formerly middle class, formerly working class), readers and writers or future traders.

We have 50 days left till the post May Day EU counts on 450,000,000 people. A considerably larger western social political conglomerate than the builders, constructors and leaders are ready for. They perhaps should have done a night course.

Exit polls suggest votes were as follows between 45% and 47% for ND and 39% - 41.5% for PASAK.
Greeks are obliged to vote, which is interesting. 9,800,000 are supposed to have voted today between 7am and 7pm.
There were 545,000 new voters participating in the elections.

There will be later "no hiccups/gremlins intefering" an official result at 22h30 greek time

The allegations of "nastyness" between the main competing parties ND and PASOK were mostly of a religious prejudice type:-
We might remember that Greece has had quite a place in the "theocractic" as well as "democratic" list of goverments.
An emergency investigation was ordered last night by the Athens DA, after a PASOK complaint that ND officials in party cars were promoting the circulation of an informative flyer addressed to members of the clergy, which was of a content insulting towards PASOK President Giorgos Papandreou. New Democracy Press Spokesperson Thodoris Roussopoulos spoke of provocations, while he called all democratic citizens to denounce any such practices and plans. PASOK MP Costas Laliotis made mention of a “Rigilis-gate”. Mr. Pagalos filed a lawsuit. The Church distanced itself, while PASOK spokesperson Anna Diamantopoulou had cleared it of any implication from the very beginning. Mr. Papandreou spoke of a revival of the state of the Right, Mr. Karamanlis responded with accusations of an attempt for polarization which will fall through.

Meanwhile, US athletes going to the Olympics have been offered psychiatric help to counter the usual round of nasty anti-americanism they have to deal with.
Hopefully such help will not include more doping.
