Defiant statement during Super Bowl half time
InfoShop.org
Last year Janet Jackson's breast was the big hype. This act definitely brought forth questions about patriarchal dominance of the media, morality, decency, race, etc. However such a display was easily construed as controversy for it's own sake.
[....]
All he did was all he could do. He chose a nice T-shirt and raised his fist. He raised his left fist, the historical sign of revolutionaries, particularly Anarchists. He simply chose to wear red and black, the colors of anarcho-syndicalism. On his shirt, he rocked the black star, symbol of Anarchism used all over the world by Anarchist groups and in Anarchist art.
What makes this a controversial statement? What makes it as controversial as Jackson's nip? Easy, it was a clear sign of solidarity with Anarchists. Anarchists, who in the US have shown themselves to be stalwart fighters against oppression, and the legitimate heirs to the youth resistance of which the Beetles were once a part.

Picture of Martin Daly, some DUblin City Council honcho posing with his finger pointing accusingly at the batman style Grift piece in an alley off Wicklow St in today's Hearld.
He says he's launching a campaign to clean up tagging in the city, with primary focus going towards taking down political, racist and 'downright offensive' grafitti. What with the limitations on the right to poster in the city, you can see the use of this in undermining the right to organise in one way or another. Not to mention the stupidity of some blokes coming along and destroying the decent attempts by some people to cover the grey urban landscape with colour by buffing them with blobs of paint that look even more scarring than any bad tag.
Where can graffiti like this be found in Dublin?
I'm doing a documentary on Hiphop in Ireland and need so shots of cool graffiti.
Thanks for your help

I'm doing a college project in image and photography. I love your work and was wondering if I could take a few photos of the person behind the art. I'm not looking for an actual facial photo - silhouette would be fine. It would be just to give the background story to add to the work you do and to personalise the story behind the images. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. CJ
