(San Jose, COSTA RICA) This Sunday, 23 June, the indigenous Bribri citizens of Costa Rica will found the world's newest country, a Country of Peace.

In a special full-moon Coronation ceremony, 800 representatives of the native Bribri people will establish "Rica Shanti Rashtra" - Rica Country of Peace - and install their chosen representative Epe De Awapa Lisandro as King, a position that has been vacant for more than 90 years.

Sunday's historic Coronation ceremony will be held at 12:00 noon Costa Rica time (8.00 p.m. BST - British Summer Time) and will be broadcast live via global satellite network and via Internet webcast (see details below).

The constitution of Costa Rica provides for autonomous rule of these native Costa Ricans, who withdrew to the mountain interior of Talamanca 500 years ago in response to the decimation of their culture by Spanish invaders. Today, 11,500 Bribri citizens inhabit this vast mountainous region of nearly 47,000 hectares.

The founding of Rica Shanti Rashtra is intended to restore the rich cultural heritage and profound knowledge which is indigenous to Costa Rica, and to bring peace and prosperity to the Bribri people and to Costa Rica as a whole.

The King's First Royal Decrees

Following his Coronation on Sunday, the King's first royal decree will be to establish a governing body consisting of eight principal ministers chosen from the tribal elders (Awapas), who will administer Rica Shanti Rashtra in conjunction with a general assembly of 800 Bribri representatives. The second royal decree will be to declare a "relationship of brotherhood" with the Global Country of World Peace, which has pledged its organizational and economic support to the new nation.

Global Country of World Peace

The Global Country of World Peace, a nation without borders, was conceived and founded in 2000 by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi "to provide a global home for peace-loving people everywhere". The Global Country of World Peace is founded upon a new science of administration, based on the most up-to-date understanding of the laws of Nature - Nature's Government-from the combined standpoints of modern science and Maharishi Vedic Science of consciousness.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is the world's foremost scientist of consciousness. natural laws governing the Universe. According to extensive published research, such administration in accord with Natural Law affords a highly cost-effective, problem-free administration, which provides for the effective prevention of problems before they arise.

2. State-of-the-art electronic communication: The effective application of state-of-the-art information technology can streamline the channels
of administration, thereby minimising administrative personnel and overheads, and their associated opportunities for inefficiency and
corruption, which are a burden in many countries.

3. Organic Agriculture: Introduction and development of the most advanced organic agricultural methods - Maharishi Vedic Organic
Agriculture - to produce abundant high-quality, nutritious food for the local citizens and for export.

4. Global Development Currency: Introduction of the global development currency - the Raam - to help finance the development of organic agriculture and to bolster the economic infrastructure of Rica Shanti Rashtra and Costa Rica as a whole.

Administration through Natural Law

Political leaders, traditional kings and dignitaries from around the world will attend the Coronation ceremony. This ceremony will include the recitation of the Rik Veda, the Constitution of the Universe, which will serve as the constitution of the newly founded nation. The
Coronation ceremony will also be accompanied by traditional celebratory music and dancing of the Bribri culture.
