Read what happened when an Extinction Rebellion meeting was disrupted by a protester. Seems they can give it out but have no intention of putting up with it themselves.

First they were 'Asian' grooming gangs, then 'Pakistani'. But the most important thing to grasp is that almost all of them ? 87% of convictions ? are Muslim, says Mark Durie. This must not be covered up.

If the BBC's Standards Committee, which is reviewing the corporation's coverage of climate change, wants a good example of bias, it should take a look at its report of recent floods in Pakistan, says Paul Homewood.

Information Evening about the Dolphin’s Barn Community Garden

category dublin | environment | event notice author Tuesday July 19, 2005 16:54author by Paul Baynes Report this post to the editors

7pm – Dolphin’s Barn Public Library: an information session about the recently established community

This is a chance to learn more about the Dolphin’s Barn Community Garden. There will be a short talk about the garden followed by an opportunity to meet some of the gardeners, to ask questions and give feedback about the project, and even to get involved! All welcome…

In early April, a small group of us established a local community garden. The garden is located on the canal near the bridge at Dolphin’s Barn, behind the factory. The area was a disused, abandoned, overgrown area of grass, but now we have put it to good use.

The area has now been planted with trees, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We have already harvested and eaten some lettuce, scallions, and potatoes. Also planted in the garden are onions, beans, cabbage, various herbs, leeks, and much else besides. We are trying to have a positive impact on the area by creating a space which all of the community can access. The project is open for anyone to get involved in, and we are especially interested in the involvement of local people.

To give local people a chance to learn more about the project, we have created a small exhibition in the Dolphin’s Barn Public Library. This exhibition gathers together photographs and information about the Dolphin’s Barn Community Garden, as well as general information about gardening, environmental issues and similar projects (including relevant library books). We hope that this will help to explain some of the ideas behind the project. This exhibition runs from 13th to 23rd July.

We are also holding an information evening in the Dolphin’s Barn Public Library, at 7pm on Wednesday, 20th July. This will include a short presentation about the garden. This is a chance for you to meet a few of the people who have been involved in creating this garden, and ask us any questions you may have. We are also looking forward to getting feedback from locals about your thoughts on the project. All are welcome!!
