90th Anniversary of Funeral of O'Donovan Rossa

This year marks 90 years since the funeral of IRB man O'Donovan Rossa. Though he died in the United States, where he spent a great deal of his time after his release from English prisons, he was buried by the Irish Republican Brotherhood and the Irish Volunteers in Glasnevin at a funeral attended by 10,000 people.

It is here that Pearse made his famous graveside oration. Rossa spent a great part of his life following his release from English prisons in the US and this

In honour of his memory, the Republican Commemoration Committee Dublin is organising a series of events to mark the occasion.

People are asked to assemble at Parnell Square on Saturday the 13th of August at 2.30pm and from there march to his graveside in Glasnevin.
