Public Meeting on 'Dubsky v Ireland' High Court Decision

category national | anti-war / imperialism | event notice author Monday January 09, 2006 18:25author by BPauthor email BlackPope at operamail dot com Report this post to the editors

At Teacher's Club, 36 Parnell Sq. West, Dublin 1, @ 2 pm, Room 8, Saturaday 14 Jan 06

Following the style set by the 'Horgan' judgement, the High Court has denied all the reliefs sought.

Eoin Dubsky (the Shannon Warplane Redecorator) launched this Judicial Review proceedings in late 2002 to prevent the Government continuing to participate in and facilitate the War in Afghanistan.

In her judgement given on 13th December 2005, Macken J. has even managed to deny that there is (or was) any war against that country by the US & Co.

The best available copy of the (50 page) judgement is at the link saying .mp3 - just save the file to your drive and rename it with a .zip extension, then unzip that and you've got the whole Word.Doc formatted text.

(Sorry Editors, I had to resort to this little trick as it otherwise looses formatting + legibility if I paste in from Word).

The meeting is designed to facilitate discussion on how to further progress the matter, and it is highly recommended to at least have read the whole text before turning up.

Comments / votes can be pasted up here, even if you can't make it.

Anybody serious about helping with this is very welcome.

Schalom, BP
