Conservative coalition enters Next Phase

In response to increased UN pressure to close the illegal Guantanamo Bay detention/torture centre, the Americans left no doubt, “we have no intention of closing Guantanamo Bay”. The flagrant illegality of Guantanamo Bay is lost on the Americans, or worse, stands as a defiant monument to American belligerence and unilateralism. The rest of the world can go to hell; Americans do what they want when they want, is that clear?

Extremely clear, however, that attitude and those actions carry with them the stigma of pariah/rogue/criminal nation – is that clear? It would seem not, as international opposition has been feeble and half-hearted. America is more dependent on foreign resources than any other nation; teaching the bully a lesson would be simplicity itself but the heart is lacking and it is not the first time the world has reacted this way to bullying militaristic tactics. Bold and defiant shock tactics, stun a civilised world. America surges along in exactly the same manner as did Nazi Germany and we remember well the world’s paralysis at that time. We also remember the consequences of inaction!

The ‘coalition of willing’ criminals have entered a new phase. The Canadian Prime Minister recently thanked John Howard for his help – Oz consultants (to the Howard government) offered strategic assistance during the Canadian election campaign, which resulted in victory for the present Canadian Prime Minister. Bush has also played the (familiar) xenophobia and racist card (border militarisation) after consulting with Howard, who is expert in the art of distraction/deception and has a reputation for utilising racist sentiments in politics.

A previous article (linked below) warning of the possibility of the Oz military targeting the civilian population has proven to be an accurate forecast. Militarisation is now occurring in the Northern Territory, the oppressed local Aboriginal community acts as the (unwilling) host social group. Military personnel have been deployed as ‘peace keepers’ in aboriginal communities since the release of the most appalling anti-aboriginal propaganda imaginable. A Goebbles purist could not have done better. Deplorable accounts of sexual and violent crimes (which occur in every society) were broadcast to full effect by a well-known Howard media mouthpiece. The Australian community was appalled by the disgusting presentation [a calculated and expected response]. Howard's right-wing strategists/consultants/propagandists had once again succeeded in duping (stunning) the public into offering no resistance. No one questioned the inappropriate deployment of the Australian military in a typical civilian policing situation. This occurrence is the thin end of the wedge, be advised!

An unnecessary military response in a domestic situation is a clear sign that the public is being ‘familiarised/softened’ to expect military responses in domestic situations in the future. I reiterate, AN UNNECESSARY MILITARY RESPONSE IN A DOMESTIC SITUATION is the clearest signal to date that ultra-right forces are preparing to inflict the most oppressive measures on their own populations. The ‘event’ planned to trigger this response is as yet unknown but it must necessarily be of a violent or alarming nature, be warned! [Dear reader, do you now think it may be time to act against the forces that have stolen democracy from under your noses?]

Analysts are trained to predict outcomes based on minimal available information – experts command incredible sums for their services. A trainee would have little difficulty exposing the strategies presently deployed by right-wing forces, they are historically identifiable as tired amateurish methodologies typical of the ultra-right. Nonetheless, the present situation clearly indicates that ultra-right forces have no intention of relinquishing power and have little regard for the public. Future military responses on domestic populations are a certainty. Puppet leaders may be replaced for the sake of appearances but the same nefarious forces will continue to manipulate the masses for personal gain.

It cannot be emphasised enough that to a greater or lesser extent, the far right views everyone as the enemy, domestic populations included – recent illegal surveillance stands as testimony to their methods. Civilian policing displaced by a military response is an alarming extension of these methods.

The above notwithstanding, we are also aware that the masses will remain apathetic and passive. Resistance will not occur until pain replaces the illusion of comfort.

By that stage it will be far too late.
