Republican Sinn Féin will be holding a protest on Thursday June 29, from 6pm at the Famine Memorial in the Financial Centre in Dublin's Docklands at the visit of the British naval vessel Ocean.

We view such visits as part of the normalisation of British rule in Ireland. As we have pointed out in the past, visits by British heads of State, her representatives or the British military will never be welcome in Ireland as long as Britain claims jurisdiction in any part of the country. This claim, enforced by military might, ensures that whilst it is maintained, relations between the two countries cannot be normal.

Republican Sinn Féin members will be present to press home the point that the presence of a British naval vessel is not welcome in Dublin as long as part of the country remains under British occupation.

Just as we oppose the use of Irish airspace and landing facilities at Shannon by US torture and war planes, we also oppose Britains role in the illegal occupation of Iraq.

The british navy are always welcome in dublin if it wasnt for them you would all be speaking german and working in slave labour camps. grow up.

Ever hear of the battle of britain and as for the ussr they only reason they beat the germans was weight of numbers and plus they were bigger scumbags than the nazis were.

The battle of Britain would not have saved Britain if it were not for the USSR and USA. Besides, your original comment was that it would have been some kind of disadvantage if we had changed from one alien germanic language to another - I dont see the reason. There is also no reason to believe the Germans would have put the Irish in work camps or made slaves of us like the Brits did. As for catagories of scumbags - Im sure you will agree that the Brits will make it into the first order ever time.

After another two paras got killed in Afghanistan yesterday ,former British army instructor ,Patrick Mercer , complained of a lack of infantry and technical support in the Helmand province ,telling BBC news:
"When I was instructing at the staff college, if a student had presented me with this plan for Afghanistan, I would have failed him, and failed him comprehensively…"
The BBC’s correspondent in Kabul ,Alastair Leithead, described the deaths of the soldiers and the wounding of several others by a resurgent Taleban as “a huge blow” . British military commanders are faced with two choices in Afghanistan: either a massive expansion of forces or a humiliating withdrawal .
That's why the Brits are spending all the money having this warship moored in Dublin. With their army getting lashed out of it in Iraq as well as in Afghanistan , they're here to recruit cannon fodder . Somebody calling himself ATAQ posted this piece of pathos on another thread last Friday:

The poppy campaign ,the Somme commemoration stamps , Islandbridge , the British/Irish council , the rebranding of Ireland as Eire – Ireland , Alex Maskey’s visit to Flanders Field , and now the ghost of the Helga . It’s all pointing in one direction – back into the British Empire

I dont know about the British Empire - what we see now is the last broken teeth of the Bulldog. Really Britain has been reduced to the USA's unquestioning lacky.

What's more serious is Irish people being led to believe that the poor misled victims of the Somme and the rest of WW1 died for something useful or commendable. Most Irishmen were there simply because the criminal British empire kept them in such poverty that they were forced to risk their lives for a few shillings. WW1 was just gang warfare between various sets of imperial criminal gangs. Which one of them won or lost made very little difference to decent people.

You can't really believe the the British government won WW2 and stoped the Nazis reaching Ireland!
By the way it was the USSR that won that war single handed.
If it wasent for THE USSR you would be in a German camp. That is the reality!
Of all the German soildirs killed in WW2 the Russians killed/captured 74% of them.
The Brits killed/captured 2.8%
Without Russia the Allies would have lost.
Without America,England enc.. the Russians would still have won.
GROW UP YOU WEST BRIT DOPE THE BRITISH EMPIRE IS GONE (thank God) AND IT'S NEVER COMING BACK.
WHY WOULD YOU POSSIBLY LIKE IT.
