“The Great Oil and Gas Giveaway”
The facts on how Fianna Fáil gave away our natural resources

Most oil and gas producing countries keep at least half of the money obtained from the oil and gas extracted from their territories.
Some levy a lot more. Countries such as Venezuela spend this money on improving the health and education services for their citizens.

We get nothing - the oil and gas companies get to keep the lot ! The well-head price for natural gas is currently around €7.00 per thousand cubic feet. Ireland’s gas reserves are estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic feet. That is €8.2 billion worth of gas, and Fianna Fáil have given away our share - worth at least €4.1 billion. This money should have been kept to build hospitals and schools. And this is only one example of our Government’s bungling and incompetence.

Micheál Ó’Seighin is a great speaker and natural leader. This time last year he spent 94 days in jail for highlighting the injustices inflicted on the local communities in West Mayo.
