IN 2003 KEVIN HIGGINS WON THE CUIRT FESTIVAL POETRY GRAND SLAM, AND WENT ON TO REPRESENT IRELAND IN THE EUROPEAN POETRY SLAM IN PARIS. KEVIN’S FIRST COLLECTION OF POEMS, ‘THE BOY WITH NO FACE’, WAS PUBLISHED BY SALMON IN FEBRUARY 2005. IT WAS SALMON POETRY’S BESTSELLING BOOK OF 2005: “NO OTHER YOUNGER IRISH POET HAS WRITTEN SO MANY VISUALLY ARRESTING AND WITTY POEMS ABOUT THE NEW IRELAND AS CAN BE FOUND IN HIGGINS’ THE BOY WITH NO FACE”, TODD SWIFT

FROM CORK, TRISH CASEY WON THE CUIRT GRAND SLAM IN 2004, AS WELL AS THE RTE RATTLEBAG SLAM AND HAS PERFORMED FOR THE BBC AND PUBLISHED HER WORK WIDELY.

DAVE LORDAN WON THE 2005 PATRICK KAVANAGH AWARD FOR POETRY, PERFORMED AT CUIRT AND IS A WRITER IN RESIDENCE AT A COLLEGE IN DUBLIN. HIS FIRST COLLECTION IS FORTHCOMING WITH SALMON POETRY.

WINNER OF THE 2006 NORTH BEACH NIGHTS MEGA POETRY SLAM, ELAINE FEENEY IS ALSO DOING A GUEST READING AT OVER THE EDGE IN THE AUTUMN. SHE ALSO TEACHES ENGLISH IN ST. PATRICK’S, TUAM.

ALSO JOINING ON THE NIGHT IS RAY GLASHEEN A SINGER SONG WRITER FROM WEXFORD.
