Drogheda plant under fire Iran has announced it is banning importation of Coca Cola which is supplied from a plant in Drogheda, Co. Louth. I was flicking through satellite television programmes yesterday (as is my wont) and stopped on IRINN which is an Iranian news channel. I don't speak Farsi (Persian) but there was an English language news ticker running along the screen. I was amazed to see mention of Drogheda on the ticker but waited for it to come around again and it said Iran had banned sales of Coca Cola due to money from sales being channelled to the USA from the plant that makes it in Drogheda (it didn't even mention that Drogheda was in Ireland). So I got out my camera phone and took these pics. |
