Dublin protest at Shell HQ in solidarity with Rossport

category dublin | environment | news report author Thursday September 11, 2008 21:33author by Andrew - WSM (personal capacity) Report this post to the editors

Around thirty people took part in a protest at Shell HQ on Lesson street tonight.

An odd feature of the picket was the two secret police men who were pretending to be journalists. When challenged the one with the camera claimed he was 'Tom' from the Independent. Why a photographer would bring along a mate with a video camera was unexplained. A call to the Independent newsdesk to check out Tom's tall tale was greated with puzzlement, but don't expect an expose in tomorrows issue of secret police pretending to be journalists, after all the owner has substantial interests in oil exploration himself.

The audio is quick soundbytes with half a dozen of the participants.
