No wonder standards of university education are sliding, says Joanna Gray. The admissions process is a festival of social engineering, with lower "contextual" offers made on the basis of sob-story "supporting information".

COP30 was where pious platitudes met cold, harsh reality. And cold, harsh reality won. Outside Europe the world long ago worked out that fossil fuels are an essential, not a luxury, says Paul Homewood.

Anti-Fur & Pro-Vegan Demos

category dublin | animal rights | event notice author Sunday November 16, 2008 20:34author by Laura Broxson - CAFT Ireland / National Animal Rights Associationauthor email caftireland at gmail dot comauthor address PO Box 11019, Dublin 2 Report this post to the editors

Get active for animal rights! YOU can make a difference!

Hi,

We'll be having anti-fur and pro-vegan demonstrations on Saturday 22nd November.

Here's the plan for the day:

12.30pm - 1.30pm, Rohu Furs (2 Castle Market, Dublin 2)

1.30pm - 2.30pm, McDonald's (10-11 Grafton Street, Dublin 2)

2.30pm - 3.30pm, Barnardo Furs (108 Grafton Street, Dublin 2)

We sent Rouge (Clarendon Street) a fur information pack last week, including a fur free statement for them to sign, but if we don't hear back from them by Saturday, we'll be having a protest outside their shop before we finish for the day.

Hope you can make it!

Laura Broxson

"abit much". It seems that your complaints are unwarranted. The postings concerning the rights of nonhuman individuals are pretty infrequent on Indymedia Ireland, and the same goes for the comments page. I guess the truth is that NARA and other groups are so active since society remains deeply speciesist - there is still much to do, therefore. You can help reduce the number of posting by going vegan. I hope you will.
