Culture at THE CO-OP
On Saturday 21st of November 2009, at THE CO-OP in Newmarket, Dublin 8, this unique venue is hosting a special night of music, song, story, lore, dance and film.
Kicking off the night at 8.00pm will be the screening of the documentary film ‘The Liberties’. Fear an Tí, Des Geraghty will then introduce the performers: Tony MacMahon - Accordion; Noel Pocock - Uilleann Pipes; Maureen Johnson - Singer and Storyteller from Pimlico; Sibéal Davitt - Sean-Nós Dancer; and Des Geraghty - Flute player and Storyteller.
In a celebration of the colourful local history and culture of The Liberties, it promises to be a great night with such talented performers.

The acclaimed documentary film The Liberties, by Tom Burke & Shane Hogan, offers a series of 12 beautifully crafted short films, each focusing on a different microcosm within Dublin’s Liberties community. The screening of the film will be followed by a questions and answers session with the filmmakers.
There’s ample parking at Newmarket and on the night you’ll find food and a complementary glass of mulled wine.
Tickets are €12 (€10 conc. / Co-op membership) and doors open 7.30pm.
