POW picket at British Embassy, Dublin, Sat 24 April 2010.

A 48-hour fast will be held shortly by Republican POW's in Portlaoise Prison in support of their comrades in Maghaberry Prison.

Hi !
At a 2-hour 'Restore Political Status' picket at the British Embassy in Dublin today (Saturday 24 April 2010) it was announced that Republican prisoners in Portlaoise Prison will , next Friday evening (30 April 2010) begin a 48-hour fast in support of their comrades in Maghaberry Prison in County Antrim.
Also , the case of Armagh man , Martin Corey , was raised at the picket by a spokesperson from the RSF POW Department : this man served 19 years of a British-imposed 25-year sentence , was released in 1992 but , on April 16 last , was interned and is now being held as a political hostage in Maghaberry Jail.

Hi !
A picket will be held outside Portlaoise Prison next Saturday , 1st May 2010 , in support of the 'Political Status' campaign. Republican prisoners in Portlaoise Prison will, by then, be on a fast in solidarity with their comrades in Maghaberry Jail. Transport arrangements to and from the Portlaoise Prison picket , which will be held from 12 noon to 1pm, will be announced in the next day or two. We ask those concerned with the welfare of our imprisoned comrades to please make themselves available for this picket - Saturday , 1st May 2010, Portlaoise Prison, 12 noon to 1pm.

Hi !
A 'Union Jack' flag which , up until near the end of the above-mentioned British Embassy picket had been located in the vicinity of the protesters , caught fire and those present were unable to 'save' it....
A full report , and better photographs , will be published in the May 2010 issue of'Saoirse' , which goes to print on Wednesday , the fifth of that month.
