Here's a little more about the music in store on the 18th...
Túcan, are an instrumental acoustic guitar based group hailing from Sligo. They are a genre splitting band who defy classification, with influences ranging from Tool to Paco de Lucia to Frank Zappa and even Kíla. They are one of the most exciting Irish bands on the live scene in Ireland with an explosive show that spell-binds audiences leaving them gasping for breath. They have toured Ireland extensively as well as completing tours of England, Denmark and mainland Europe, earning a reputation as a seriously talented ensemble of musicians. You'll be treated to a special acoustic performance on the 18th.
Fusion Family have been rocking up and down the length and breadth of the country for the past year on stages at Life festival, Knockanstockan festival, Dalkey Arts festival, as well as supporting the likes of Kila, Natty Wailer, Mary Stokes, Fuji & Myagi and the Chieftans. Their infectious sound seemingly has had somewhat of a warming effect this past 12 months and due to the reaction they have received from a wide ranged audience.Their debut album Full Circle produced by Brian Masterson (Van Morrisson/ U2/ Red Hot Chilli Peppers/ Nora Jones) is out now.
Zombie Cops are a Dublin based Alternative Rock Pop band. Made up of 4 hard working, smart talking musicians. They bond together like a classic Four-Piece Rock band. The Cops hold an advantage of having two lead singers meaning lots of harmonies and plenty of variation. The guys have been playing in various projects for an average of 10 years, bringing plenty of experience and 'old heads on young shoulders' mentality.
CrazyD, hailing from Jamaica, has been on the Dancehall scene since his teens, playing in music venues like Don Juan Lawn. With influences ranging from Barry Gordon to Kilimanjaro Sound System, DJ CRAZYD is known for selectively playing the best of Reggae Dancehall.
Bootnik's funk soul and disco selections blend the old and the new to create that dance floor feeling whatever the the location.Boasting one of Dublin's busiest midweek night -Little Saturdays at Sin E - Bootnik promises to to make you get up off of that thing!
LoveMusic HateRacism-celebrate diversity , challenge hate.
It's all at Sweeney's Mongrel (LeCirk) 32 Dame St/Lane Friday 18th June,Suggested Donation €3
