Religious Abuse Truth isued a summons to the Navan Rd residence of the Papal Nuncio on Monday . The summons requires that Pope Bendeict and six accomplices attend the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) being held in London next year.
Religious Abuse Truth visited the Papal Nuncio's gaff on the Navan Rd on Monday to deliver a summons requiring Pope Benedict and six accomplices to attend a tribunal and answer questions about the church's criminal cover-up of crimes against children in their care. The summons was issued on behalf of International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) , an advocacy group seeking truth and justice for Canadian indigenous community thousands of whose children suffered brutality at religious residential schools
Founded in the 19th century, the Canadian Indian residential school system was intended to force the assimilation of the Aboriginal peoples in Canada into European-Canadian society. The purpose of the schools, which separated children from their families, has been described as "killing the Indian in the child."[
"Thousands of children died in the (residential) schools and their families were not informed of the deaths or the burial sites."

The summons was also issued at nine other international locations last weekend . It requires that Benedict Ratzinger and six senior Cardinals appear before the opening hearing of the ITCCS in London, England on Monday, April 4, 2011 to answer charges of their personal complicity in crimes against humanity.
The Cardinals named are Tarcisio Bertone, Secretary of State, Giovanni Battista Re, head of the Congregation for Bishops, Francis Arinze, Dario Castrillo Hoyos, Angelo Bagnasco, and Angelo Sodano, Dean of the College of Cardinals.

BE ADVISED that you have been listed as primary witnesses in an adjudication of a matter before this Court, which is a Tribunal of International and Indigenous Judges.
Your presence is hereby requested on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:00 am, at a public location to be disclosed, in the City of London, England.
Said Tribunal is convened pursuant to international Law, indigenous Tribal Law, the Rule of Natural Law and the Law of Nations. Your presence is required to participate in the examination of issues and questions regarding the following matters and charges:
1. Your responsibility and liability as fiduciary officers and Head of the Roman Catholic Church for the crimes of genocide, murder, warfare, forced removal from traditional lands, slave labor, institutionalized racism, theft of resources, child trafficking, rape and pedophilia, and other crimes against indigenous peoples and children, arising from the Indian Residential School system in Canada established by the Roman Catholic Church and the government of Canada.
2. Your failure to reply or respond to a public Letter of Demand issued to you and your Office from the Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared dated February 4, 2008, asking that you identify the burial sites and cause of death of children who died in Indian Residential Schools and hospitals in Canada run by your Church.
3. Your promulgation and enforcement of a policy of concealing, and aiding and abetting, the systemic rape of children within your Church, and your practice of enabling and safeguarding child rapists and other criminals within your Church, and of thereby perpetrating a Crime against Humanity and an international obstruction of Justice.
4. Your violation of international protocols of human rights and the Laws of nations by these and other actions and policies by your Office and your Church.
5. By these and other actions, your participation in a deliberate international Criminal Conspiracy.
You may desire to consult with your attorneys in regards to this matter, or have advocates attend the hearings with you. Written documents and materials may be submitted by you to the Tribunal, but be advised that they do not carry the same weight, or can substitute or replace, your personal presence and testimony.
BE ADVISED that any failure by you to respond to this PUBLIC SUMMONS, or to attend this Tribunal, can and will be interpreted to mean that you do not dispute or contest the charges made against you in this document, and by witnesses and other evidence, and may result in a verdict against you made in absentia.
Due to the Nation to Nation status of this issue, involving the original nations of the North American continent as holders of Allodial Title, and its concern with matters regarding international recognized Crimes against Humanity, this Tribunal and its findings will be monitored by human rights and legal specialists, and representatives of governments indigenous nations, international agencies and the media.
This Tribunal will be open to the public and the media. Its officers will submit their findings in the form of a final comprehensive report to the public, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Criminal Court, and government and police agencies.

The International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State which has been constituted by indigenous people from Canada and their supporters won’t be an excuse for a lot of lawyers to make a lot of money if that’s what is supposed to be the mark of a "serious heavyweight legal process".
JR Trinkle referred to the “crimes of clerical sex abuse”. Religious Abuse Truth doesn’t confine itself to bringing those clerics who committed sex abuse crimes to justice .Not all of the children at industrial schools in Ireland for instance were sexually abused. They were all placed under fear, treated as slaves beaten up -all of these are crimes. So is the cover-up of crimes that the church has engaged in for over fifty years.
The Ryan commission established that in 1953, Mickey Flanagan was punished for being involved in a schoolyard brawl while at Artane Industrial School . A Christian Brother grabbed his arm and “twisted it repeatedly like the hand of a clock until it broke in three places” . His mother was not allowed to see him for eight days. His father called for a public inquiry. Nothing happened. Church authorities have sought to portray clerical abusers such as the Brother who broke Mickey's arm as sinners rather than criminals.
Religious Abuse Truth wants to see criminal charges brought against clergy who abused children in their care and against those who covered up for these criminal acts. Kevin Flanagan whose brother Mickey was the Artane boy referred to as “the boy with the broken arm “in the Ryan report delivered the summons on behalf of the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State after being contacted by those convening the tribunal.
Religious Abuse Truth is not making any threats whatsoever. What the repercussions will be for those summonsed who refuse to attend will be for the tribunal itself to decide .The International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State isn’t going to be a private affair - in fact the organizers want it to be as open and public as possible.

Yes , this is a serious heavyweight legal process that has been initiated. The summons was issued by The International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State .Kevin Flanagan delivered the summons to the papal nuncio’s office on the Navan Rd last Monday .
OK, I'm a bit confused by all this. Is the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State part of the International Court of Justice? Or some other body recognised under international law? If not, what status does it have? Who issued the summons? Are those summoned required by law to attend? What happens if they don't? Who enforces its decisions?
Sorry for all these questions, Google doesn't throw up much for it. But the article gives the impression that this is a serious heavyweight legal process that has been initiated. If its not, and its simply an unofficial self-established forum with no powers, then this should really be spelt out openly.
This is not in any way taking away from the enormity of the crimes of clerical sex abuse but investing a private unofficial forum with the language of public law does little to advance the cause and may bring a misplaced complacency to concerned members of the public.

I believe it was the dialect spoken back in the hills north-east of Rome way back before Dante did for Italian what Shakespeare did for English.

Yes Opus Diablos ,terrible things were done against the indigenous people of both Canada and Australia . The Christian Brothers and other Irish catholic teaching orders operated in countries that were part of the British commonwealth . They worked in the service of the authorities in those countries who were trying to “civilize” and “assimilate” the native populations . Ireland’s image and reputation of being outside the British empire and establishment helped the authorities in those countries get away with what they were doing in my opinion. As well as that they had plenty of experience in how to deal with children of the lower orders in Ireland . Irish people have a duty to speak out now and say that these criminals never did not act in our name . The Christian Brothers -now re-branded as the Edmund Rice International - are currently seeking UN recognition as child right advocates for the third world.
His Excellency the papal nuncio was not in residence when the summons was delivered last Monday .His secretary said that he is in Rome at the moment but that she would give the summons to the nuncio when he returns from Rome later this week. We will be paying a follow-up visit to the nuncio's office on the Navan Rd over the coming weeks to see whether the Vatican authorities are prepared to abide by the terms of the summons .
In the meantime we are working on our Latin to help clarify our position to the nuncio - perhaps Opus Diablos might be able to help out on that . The nun who opened the door to us on Monday was speaking a language that sounded like it may have been Latin ,she said that she was Italian and didn’t seem to fully understand what we were there for. She fetched the nuncio’s secretary who did understand what we were there for ,but was annoyed that we were “filming on private property” . How quick these people are to come over all legalistic when it suits them . Filming on private property is surely a minor transgression compared to the crimes of the church authorities as outlined in the various reports into clerical abuse.
