The policy of ethnic cleansing pursued by the Armenians in the territory of Armenia has been crowned with an absolute result - today not a single Azerbaijani is living in the territory of Armenia. They were forcibly driven out by means of extremely brutal methods. They were killed by the doctors in hospitals, tortured, beheaded, burnt alive. read full story / add a comment

Today, Irish government cuts to supplementary welfare allowance kick in.

This will detrimentally effect the already marginalised in society, people who are unemployed, single parents..... and immigrants.

After not recieving any sensible answers from the Dept. of Social & Family Affairs, as to WHY the cuts are being introduced,
I've come to some conclusions.

For their 'sounds like office cowboys' side to the story
Phone the Dept. at (01) 704 3000 (warning - be prepared to be put on hold)

Keith Mc Henry one of the co-founders of Food Not Bombs visited Ireland. He gave a talk in Dublin, Belfast and joined us at the blockade in Shannon. The main lessons learned from the talk and videos shown was how far a simple idea like FNB could effect a city and the people that lived there, and could possibly be a concrete contribution to helping out the homeless situation in Irelands cities. read full story / add a comment

2003 saw a big upsurge in anarchist activity across the country. A small but growing number of anarchists are building opposition to the status quo based on the politics of freedom and equality. We want, and know it is possible, to create an alternative to the politics of bluff, lies and shady deals. Justice will not fall from the sky- it will have to be fought for here and now. That's why anarchists are involved in a wide range of campaigns and are active in the day-to-day struggles of our communities and in our workplaces. We also know that to build a different society requires imagination and initiative and so we are not content simply to criticise what is- over the past year we showed what can be achieved through grassroots democracy and direct action. read full story / add a comment

For the last few weeks I have been trying to save some farm land, which was left in a will for the community, from being sold off to property developers. I think its just a symptom of the current land and property crisis in Ireland.

(Note: What I am writing below is NOT part of the Airfield campaign. It’s a personal interest in understanding the madness that is the current property situation in Ireland.) read full story / add a comment
