Hi,

Saturday 25th July will be the 4th, and final, part of our "Fur Farm Exposé Tour", and so we'll be traveling to Donegal (home to 3 fur farms and the Irish Fur Breeder's Association!), where we'll be teaming up with the Donegal Vegan Group.

Again, there won't be a mini-bus, so please get back to us as soon as possible to reserve a seat in one of the cars! Also, if you'd be willing to offer additional transport for the day, please get in touch. read full story / add a comment

Carol Churchill's agitprop response to the Gaza incursion. This controversial play confronts the history of Israel and raises lots of questions about myths and nation building in deeply divided societies. The play will be performed by a cross border cast.
There will be two performances in each location, the lunch time performance will be followed by a workshop for young people 14+ on conflict resolution and storytelling.

I was never so glad as the day I quit drinking. Almost 20 years now. Alcohol is poison and destructive to the body. Worse, it lines the pockets of the rack renters. Come on Ireland. Awaken. The world fears that. Believe it. Marijuana is one of the most powerful expectorants known. It is a pain reliever, a euphoric, an appetite enhancer, and enhancer of certain other states of thinking and cognition familiar to its users, and very useful. Let us have some real Irish Green. read full story / add a comment

This is part of a global solidarity event taking place across the Middle East, Europe, the US and Canada, marking the 40th day commemoration of the death of the first child in Gaza.

Synchronised events are taking place around the world in:
Amman, Beirut, Ballybofey, Derry, Dubai, Edmonton-Alberta, Helsinki, Manchester, Nablus and Palo Alto-CA and other places.

Through the simple act of reading aloud the names of the children killed we aim to counteract the dehumanisation of the casualties as cold statistics. read full story / add a comment

In his latest column for the New Statesman, John Pilger examines news as parody as those prominent in the British media seek to justify the official versions of the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan: Here comes the new Cold War, with promises of more bombs, more of the militarised society with its 730 bases worldwide, on which Americans spend 42 cents of every tax dollar... the devastation of Iraq’s health, once the best in the Middle East, by the ubiquitous dust from British and US depleted uranium weapons.
