Zoom's end-to-end encryption isn't actually end-to-end at all. Good thing the PM isn't using it for Cabinet calls.

Everyone is using Zoom these days from work conference calls to family chats and quizzes. It's the new shiny star of the Corona-virus era. It is a godsend to save us. Well it turns out it isn't. It's encryption is not true encryption and it just uses TLS which allows the Zoom corporation to intercept and decrypt video chats and other data. This report on Zoom comes from the UK Tech Industry well known website TheReigster. Even though the report is from early April it is unlikely most people have been made aware of the full extent of the scandal.
Since then Zoom have no doubt fixed some of the glaring security holes but it is highly likely they not want to stop getting the data they had access to, so it would be reasonable to assume they are still getting it by backdoor means and not transmitting it encrypted so that it will be far harder to uncover read full story / add a comment

Concern for rural Ireland described as fake as state gives huge bonanza to private tech and finance firms
Bríd Smith TD has called the Broadband announcement by Government the “most expensive press release and piece of media spin in the state’s history.”
She said the scale of the costs and the entire project would be one of the main things this Government is remembered for along with the housing crisis. read full story / add a comment
Ireland is going to be one of the first countries to have 5g rolled out. This an extremly important issue that every person needs to know about. Authorities are making health decisions for mass populations without telling us. My aim of this campaign is to raise money in order to get the word out about the issues that come with a 5g rollout. read full story / add a comment
5G is being sold to us as enabling high speed internet, super quick download speeds, 'smart' devices including smart cities, smart cars etc and the 'Internet of Things' (ie where all products are connected wirelessly to the internet). In practice, this means that exposure to EM radiation will increase exponentially read full story / add a comment

Over half a million households in rural Ireland are missing out on broadband because of a disastrous privatisation policy.
Up to 1999, the telephone network was run by a state company, Telecom Eireann. But the Fianna Fail government decided to copy Margaret Thatcher and sell it off. Ever since then, disaster has piled on disaster.
Instead of providing long term investment to install broad band, a series of private owners simply asset stripped the company, which had been re-named Eircom. read full story / add a comment
