If anyone is interested in planting some trees at the weekend as part of national tree week, there will be a tree planting event beside the Menlo Park Hotel in Galway City to plant thousands of trees this Sunday 9th March between 11am and 4pm. Children and adults are welcome and refreshments will be provided. Reports of some of the school student walkouts in England yesterday from members of ISR, the English equivalent of Socialist Youth. Mid-West Alliance against Military Aggression (MAMA), a local anti-war group encourages people to take every opportunity to oppose war and Irelands complicity in the buildup to an attack in Iraq. We are supporting this years Global Womens Strike call for women (and men) to travel to Shannon Airport on the 8th of March, International Womens Day to say No to War and demand investment in caring not killing. Everyone(!) is invited to Shannon on the day to show solidarity with the rallying cry "Women say No War. Invest in Caring not Killing". This year, as the eyes of the world focus on Ireland on March 17th let us use our creativity to celebrate peace and diversity.
