Vid at link. Full interview on Friday on RT.
In an exclusive interview with RT, Syrian President Bashar Assad said he will not leave Syria. Assad also spoke on the calls for armed foreign intervention in Syria, and the possible fallout on the country’s internal conflict and across the region.

“We are the last stronghold of secularism and stability in the region and coexistence, let’s say, it will have a domino effect that will affect the world from the Atlantic to the Pacific and you know the implication on the rest of the world,” Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad told RT in an exclusive interview that will air on Friday, November 9.

“I am not a puppet. I was not made by the West to go to the West or to any other country,” he said. “I am Syrian, I was made in Syria, I have to live in Syria and die in Syria,” Assad said during the interview. read full story / add a comment

Following two years under house arrest in Britain, in mid-June Julian Assange, the founder and editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks, sought refuge in the Ecuadorean embassy in London. Assange is facing extradition to Sweden on trumped-up allegations of “sexual molestation” and “rape” — which boil down to charges of unprotected sex in what were by all accounts consensual relations — but he rightly fears that this is simply a pretext to facilitate his extradition to the US. By granting him political asylum, Ecuador threw a monkey wrench into the process of handing Assange over to the US imperialists, who are intent on exacting retribution against Assange and WikiLeaks for having lifted the lid, however slightly, on the hideous crimes of US and British imperialism. read full story / add a comment

The government are currently implementing some rather disgusting changes to the way social welfare recipients are treated. The changes involve orwellian tracking and harassment of people through their mobile phones. These changes need to be resisted, as they are the thin edge of the wedge. Just because you have had no choice but to avail of your legal rights to a social welfare payment to put food on the table, does not make you a criminal and you should not be tracked like one. This is not a police state. read full story / add a comment

This follows high profile cases of Tory ministers making "fall guys" of the civil service in two rather odious matters. The slaughter continues. Full story at the url.

Bani Walid, Libya, has been under siege for nearly three consecutive weeks. A man whose family is in the besieged city spoke with RT, and described the horrors allegedly taking place: Civilians are killed every day by toxic gas and heavy tank fire.Bani Walid, the last stronghold for supporters of deceased Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, has been under siege for 20 days, with no resolution to the conflict in sight.

RT has learned that militias are reportedly shelling the city indiscriminately, with footage from Bani Walid showing dead bodies, and women and children with missing limbs and disfigured faces. A man named Faraj, who is currently in Egypt but is in contact with relatives in Bani Walid, spoke with RT and claimed that the militias are committing genocide.

Militias have reportedly encircled Bani Walid, and are not allowing any supplies into the town including food, water, medicine or humanitarian aid. The town’s electricity and gas has also allegedly been cut off. read full story / add a comment

Someone always has some statistics about the West’s failings whenever I speak of Iran or Islam or sharia and wants to know what I’m doing about it…

Next time I meet someone protesting against the welfare cuts in Britain, I’ll be sure to ask what s/he is doing about the Iranian regime’s cut in subsidies or the brutal economic sanctions!?

And this happens to me all the time and it’s usually from people who do – well – nothing. read full story / add a comment

The BBC dominates the airwaves in Ireland, with Irish national broadcaster RTE still unavailable in most parts of British Occupied Ireland. Despite a peace process, the propaganda of the BBC still pollutes Irish politics and life. With the leader of the British Labour party, Ed Miliband calling for an independent inquiry into "horrific allegations" rather than a planned BBC internal cover-up of allegations on a BBC culture, of enabling child rape for decades. Many believe that the BBC's influence on the rape of children, to be of an even greater scale, than the Catholic Church. read full story / add a comment

In politics, sortition (also known as allotment or the drawing of lots) is the selection of decision makers by lottery. The decision-makers are chosen as a random sample from a larger pool of candidates.

In ancient Athenian democracy, sortition was the primary method for appointing officials, and its use was widely regarded as a principal characteristic of democracy.

After Roisin Shortall's departure yesterday from Government with little or no support from her so called Labour colleagues, Roisin must wonder today, if she too is a prisoner of the island of Lilliput. Despite Ms Shortall's principled resignation, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny, his Labour Tanaiste Eamonn Gilmore and other so called former Labour comrades, all leapt instead to the defence of super capitalist Health Minister Dr James Reilly or perhaps more accurately, to the defence of their luxurious ministerial salaries, from the little Irish taxpayers. Then of course the Fine Gael Minister has always made no secret of his hatred for the short all, little people of Lilliputian Ireland. read full story / add a comment

From The Irish Times , September 24 2012

Twelve months ago I gave a presentation on the subject of youth drug and alcohol abuse to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children. I highlighted the huge pressures facing Ireland’s youth, including peer pressure, bullying, unemployment and emigration, all within a national atmosphere of despair over our collective future. I focused on the widespread culture of binge drinking in Ireland, which appears to be often ignored, accepted or normalised by many parents, publicans, politicians and law enforcers.

Irish writer Brendan Behan said that “other people have a nationality; the Irish and Jews have a psychosis”. The Neo-colonial free state and British Occupied Ireland are both run by liars telling obvious lies, still worse, almost everyone in Ireland chooses to believe them Israel too has similar problems with choosing corrupt leaders like Ireland. Bottom line this is insane and this form of insanity can best be summarized, as telling oneself lies and insanely choosing consciously to believe them. Perhaps, it was developed for survival in the face of the holocaust or abject adversity but both communities experienced it.The results today are Government liars portrayed in the heavily censored west-brit Irish media, as either behemoth buffoons like former Taoiseach Brian Cowen or as Blue blooded imported Brit leaders, above scrutiny or reproach, such as the contemporary Viceroyal Villiers.
