Who Does Our Government Represent?

Could someone please tell me who the present government serves? They have attacked people on social welfare, on low pay, the middle class, small businesses, the blind, the old and their pensions and carers, the disabled, children with special needs, old folks homes. They have closed and downgraded Hospitals.

They have caused increases in the price of food, fuel, clothing, etc, with a Vat increase, they increased road tax, the cost of medicines. They are forcing local councils to make people pay for life saving services like the Fire Brigade even though this is paid through general taxation, they want us to pay for water which is a natural right under UN charter, they have made going back to College more of a luxury than an essential part of a countries advancement. They are raiding peoples savings with a Dirt Tax hike.

They have reduced the number of Gardai, Defence Forces, Nurses, Doctors and Teachers, and this is only a partial list of the pain they have inflicted and they have told us that this is not the end of the misery they have heaped upon us but only the begining.

No person in their right mind in any level of society would have voted for any of the afore mentioned so why is it happening?? The people of Ireland voted for change but all we got was an even more cruel master who does not no when to stop applying the whip to our backs, while the culprits who caused the destruction of our country and its economy remain untouched.

I watched Minister Phil Hogan on RTE recently announcing his plans for Water Meters in the near future with an almost gleam in his eye. He has told us that this was in the program for government, a similar program was cooked up by the last lot, so why is a government that was voted in for change carrying on regardless when change was promised?

We were told that the Water Charges were a condition laid down by the IMF. How can a private bank (which the IMF is in all but name) dictate the water rights of the citizens of a sovereign nation and it remains unchallenged? As an aside, people should investigate what the IMF tried to do to the people of Bolivia and their water rights if want they need to understand the end game as regards OUR water rights.

So my question stands> Who does our government represent? Because it sure as hell does not represent anyone in Ireland as far as I can see.

Finally, and on a sad note, why are the people of Ireland not doing anything about the willful destruction of their country and its people. Have we become a nation of shivering cowards where courage is something that only exists in history books?

Is the answer Goldman Sachs ?? Seems to be who they represent from were I am sitting.
As regards the Irish being shivering Cowards . I would have to say most defenitely Yes. And I would say about 65+% of them are Morons also.
Sorry

They represent the financial oligarchy. This is the Class War except this time their victory has been more complete and has been fought at a more abstract level via financial rather through industrial relations. This new Class War that started a few decades back has been so effective that most people can't even see it for what it is, except at this final stage where just a few more people are beginning to cop on.

In effect the financial elite through organisations like the World Bank, IMF and now more recently the ECB and the army of financial 'experts' and lobby groups are doing to Europe and the USA (i.e. the 'West') what they did to Africa during the 1980s and into the 90s and parts of Asia too.

The progress that Africa had made in the 1950s and 60s when they gained independence and started developing and growing came to a screeching halt during the 2nd oil crisis when the banks intentionally lent vast sums of surplus dollars (created by high oil prices and held by oil producing countries) and lent these to much of Africa, Asia and Latin America. The result was crippling debt which alongside falling currencies allowing the insiders connected to global finance/IMF to come in and buy up mines, forests, dams and the best farmland at extremely cheap prices. Much of this is documented in the book 'Confessions of an Economic Hitman'

Anyhow the result was that poverty grew massively along with corruption and the structure of these societies tilted in the extreme towards a tiny rich elite and the remainder totally impoverished and at the same time social services were more or less dismantled. It is no coincidence during the 1980s and 90s that the megaslums of the world grew rapidly.

It is this condition which is the logical conclusion of what is now happening in Ireland and every other country in Europe.

For some reason the Irish have been exceptionally passive and I can only speculate that they think the scenario of total social destruction is something they seem to think could never happen here. My gut feeling is that the propaganda war over the past 3 or 4 decades has been so effective that people can't see the class nature of what is happening and are still hanging onto such myths as we will grow out of this or we're all just one social class. Or if it is none of these, then people are too wrapped up in their pre-occupations with various TV soaps, or series of this that and the other and spend so much time doing "entertainment" that they are clueless as to what structural changes are going on all around them.

Even at this late stage where it is impossible not to notice the financial coup d'etat that has taken place and the utter criminality of the financial elite and their representatives -the governments and various political parties throughout Europe, that many people just refuse to grasp what is going on and you still get these expressions of 'you mean its a conspiracy'. The conspiracy meme has been so thoroughly rammed into the population, that it now serves it purpose very well. It acts as a automatic reflex action to shutdown discussion and thought about an entire subject area and at the same time indicates the person proposing any ideas not vetted in the mainstream media as to be a loony.
