The Socialist Party has never supported the use of the Gardai or any other section of the state against workers involved in struggle or protest. The Socialist Party does not support the use of heavy handed tactics by the Gardai against anti war protestors. The suggestion by Pat Cochrane that the Socialist Party condone the actions of the Gardai and are soft on the issue of state oppression is a scurrilous attempt at mis information.
