We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

The ten people arrested have all been charged (mostly with Public Order offences) and released on bail untill Friday March 7th. (Which is also the date of the Catholic Workers' return to court). There were no reports of any serious injuries.

What were the circumstances of those arrested?

did they have white or pink flags?

did they intend of getting arrested?

who are the arrestees? do they wish to be named or anonymous?

Do they wish to be held in jail? The CW5 made a small point of staying for a while. If they wish to leave on the 7th, why?

What training and prep did they go through before March 1st? Were they properly trained? Did what happened connect with expectations?

these questions are not attacks. just questions that need to be answered before another 'Direct Action' happens again.

Reckon one chap wanted to be arrested, no one else did.
Talk of circumstances should prob be left untill case is over, though you can check out the video (on the newswire).

What training and prep did they go through before March 1st? Were they properly trained? Did what happened connect with expectations?

We had a bit of a training session in Dublin, not sure whether any of the arrested were there or not. Some may also have had training for one of the Gluaiseacht actions (at Sellafield or Faslane) or before Genoa.
i don't think anyone can ever be 'properly trained', you just never know what exactly s going to happen.
Re: expectations, I didn't really know what to expect, i don't think many people did. the arrests were unfortunate, we have to learn from this because we're losing people to the courts at an unsustainable rate.
