Brute force won`t bring peoples to their knees

No political observer can afford to ignore or deny the fact that the Israeli government is still using all gimmicks manoeuvers to hinder the implementation of the international legitimacy resolutions concerning the Middle East problem. Observers and analysts do not need further evidence to find that Israel is still opposing all honest peace efforts being exerted by the Arabs in general and the Palestinian people in particular. By persisting in its intransigent policy Israel is not only standing against the international legitimacy resolutions, but also rejecting the very initiative, the roadmap, put forward by the US and other parties of the Quartet Committee, the UN, the EU and Russia.

The talks US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor recently held with Sharon confirmed this fact. Instead of helping their strategic allies in Washington and backing their initiative, senior Israeli officials were keen to show opposition to the US master-minded plan under the pretext of security fears. They called for some changes in the plan that aim at liquidating the very essence of the Palestinian Intifada , which is a legitimate national resistance movement against the occupation of the Palestinian lands. The Israelis described their fears as reservations. There were fourteen Israeli reservations. Therefore, the Israeli reservations were ‏

based on their interest related to stopping the Intifada a s a first step. The truce agreement agreed upon between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority was fragile and unable to stand the very dangerous Israeli challenges and violations... ‏

In the meantime, the Palestinian Authority underlined their support for the initiative. This is another attitude which proves this fact. ‏

In stead of making every effort possible to push the peace process forward, Ariel Sharon has so far escalated the war crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. His army has not stopped attacking civilian areas killing many and demolishing houses under the pretext of security ! ‏

The continuous acts of terror and brigandage have not brought about security and stability for Israel. On the contrary, the Palestinian people, who are the victims of terror and occupation, have not succumbed to the Israeli brute force. They have continued their legitimate resistance and national struggle with the aim of restoring their rights to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state. They have been able to penetrate the tightest security measures made by Sharon and carried out martyrdom operations inside the 1948-occupied territories. This bears a real and symbolic meaning that resistance is not limited to the 1967 lines, but extends to the land occupied earlier by the Israeli army. ‏

The Israeli criminals of war, foremost among whom being their boss Ariel Sharon , the Assassin of Sabra and Shatila , are trying to fool the world public by alleging they are interested in holding peace talks with Syria without preconditions! ‏

The US-Israeli allies seems to be not interested in making a real breakthrough in the peace process. Many examples can be set on this fact. The first important thing is that they have been working hard to deviate form the right path that leads to a just and comprehensive peace solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. They haven`t been earnest in their bid to reach a fair solution with the Palestinian Authority. On the contrary, their target has been to make changes in the political administration in the Palestinian areas on the one hand, and to destroy the infrastructure of the Intifada on the other. ‏

The US-backed Israelis may be able to make a success in the first part of their target, which is making some changes in the political administration of the Palestinian people, but they will never be able to torpedo the national infrastructure of the Intifada. To the contrary of their calculations, the Palestinian people`s resistance is getting stronger than ever before. The Intifada of the Palestinian people has become a historic national tradition. And the Palestinian people have repeatedly proved they will never be brought to their knees. ‏
