offsite link Taxpayers Are Charged for the BBC Whether They Like it or Not Sat Nov 22, 2025 11:00 | Charlotte Gill
It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

Read what happened when an Extinction Rebellion meeting was disrupted by a protester. Seems they can give it out but have no intention of putting up with it themselves.

Bush Visit: Isn't it good to be in the majority camp for once?

category national | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Sunday April 18, 2004 17:35author by sloop Report this post to the editors

Majority against US Use of Shannon/ Against Bush Visit

.

***US Use of Shannon***

36% should continue
53% Shouldnt

A Huge Majority

***Majority against Bush Visit ***

50% say shouldnt Go Ahead
40% say it should.

Another Huge majority.

****Commentary****

You have to dig hard at the SBP Polls to get these figures as they cloud the issue by pushing hard at hiding it under the fact that 72% saying economy is dependent on US Goodwill. Thats US goodwill - not Bush good will btw. People can make the distinction even if SBP can't.

Why didn't they ask the simple question - do you support the US Occupation of Iraq?

Probably because it would have shown that the vast majority of the Irish Electorate are opposed to it vehemently including the Fianna Fail Grassroots which is a major reason why their support in the upcoming local/euro elections has plummeted to 32/33% range.

So all hands on deck for the Bush visit. We're the majority (here and in the World) and we have a right to make our feelings known. McDowell and his Armed Police on the street for mayday as a trial run may stop some of us but it sure as hell will not stop all of us
