British troops die in Basra crash

A number of British servicemen have died in a helicopter crash in southern Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has said. Police in Basra told reporters the aircraft crashed into a city centre house after being hit by a rocket. But new Defence Secretary Des Browne said the cause of the crash remained unclear, and he offered his sympathies to the families of those who had died.
[Hmmm no offer of sympathies to the Iraqi children killed. pat c]

Violent clashes in which some people were injured followed the crash, and an 8pm curfew was imposed by Iraqi police. Basra police later said five people, including two children, were killed and nineteen others were wounded after Iraqis clashed with British forces.

Here come the euphemisms again! They tell us that Iraquis were 'killed' in 'clashes' with the British Army during 'disturbances' , when it's clear that the British Army ran amok, murdering 5 people following the helicopter crash in Basra. Let's hope that now the British media will stop peddling the lie that British soldiers, thanks to their experience in 'Northern Ireland' , know how to deal with conflict situations. Judging by the news from Basra, they're the same bloody, brutal force they always were!

The war in Iraq has yet to kick off in the south, where the British and ustralians are based. This is a preview of what is to come following the predictable U.S. nuclear or conventional attack on Iran. As one U.S. general remarked recently, "Iran could take Basra with 10 mullahs and a sound system!"

Meanwhile in Afghanistan 10 U.S. soldiers were killed in a chopper crash in the past 24 hours.
