Dublin - Event Notice Thursday January 01 1970 Anti-War Soap Box Speaking *Temple Bar from *Sunday 2.30pm![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Free Speech - Use it or Lose it! There will be anti-war soap box speaking at the usual corner in Temple Bar Square. Ciaron O'Reilly (who goes to trial this Wednesday with Damien Moran, Deirdre Clancy, Karen Fallon & Nuin Dunlop,)will kick things off at 2.30 pm Sunday! Speakers Corner was established in Temple Bar/Sunday afternoons on May Day 2003. It ran consistently for over 2 years thanx in large part to JD & Kila's Rossa -both who have moved now from Dublin. It's a tradition that can be revived at need. It's cheap, low tech, 2-way and worth exploring. It's empowering in the sense that quite a few people got their start as public speakers at this spot over the last 2 years. Recently, the public space of Temple Bar Square has been increasingly colonised by restaurants temp extensions. |
