Assemble 2pm, Sat. 29th, Garden of Remembrance
There will be an emergency demonstration on Saturday the 29th of July against Israel's ongoing war of aggression in Lebanon, which has resulted in appalling loss of life and widespread destruction of housing and infrastructure.
Supported openly by Britain and America, in Ireland by the Irish Times and RTE, and meeting with nothing more than mealy-mouthed utterances by the Irish political establishment, Israel is being given permission to commit war crimes, the same crimes these same people pretend to be outraged about when official enemies are responsibile.

These war-mongers must be stopped. Mass opposition is the only effective political route left.

You are asked to assemble at 2pm. at the Garden of Remembrance, on Saturday July 29th to demonstrate against officially sanctioned barbarism. Those, like the State media, who support Israel's actions, must be regarded as implicated in them.

" Supported in Ireland by the Irish Times"

Andrew, can you explain why you think the Irish Times supports Israel's aggression in Lebanon. The reason I ask is that 2 articles I read in Wednesday's paper convinced me I should go on the march to support Lebanon. I don't have a copy of Wednesday's paper on me, but one article was by Mary Fitzgerald and directly below it was another article which started along the lines of "It is their feet that tell the story, they arrive with swollen, bloodied and bandaged feet..." This is just a quote from memory, but it was a graphic article about the desperate state of injured people arriving at a hospital in South Lebanon.

I'm not a regular reader of the Irish Times and only bought the paper that day to see what coverage they gave the Pitstop Ploughshares, but I was very impressed by the reports of the current conflict in this part of the Middle East.

Some journalists in the IT oppose Israeli aggression, some appear to support it. I do think however that the sub editors who write the article titles are in the pay of Mossad. ;) All in all I think the IT comes down on the side of the Palestinians and Lebanese. In a paper like the IT you whave to also expect to read poison by Tom Cooney and by the Israeli Ambassador.
