Nick Cohen podcast trashes liberals for supporting Islamic reactionaries

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Thursday January 25, 2007 14:12author by Woolly Lefty Report this post to the editors

UK Guardian podcast

Nick Cohen (Observer journalist) promotes his new book "How Liberals Lost Their Way" in a brief mp3 "podcast".

Among the topics covered are how the liberal/left in the UK are giving unconditional support to rightwing Islamic movements in Iraq and Iran, how the working class are attacked by the liberal-left (as a result of the liberal-left feeling betrayed by said working class not having a revolution) and other woolly-minded stuff from Nick. Only about 3 minutes or so. Worth a laugh.

That was definitely worth a laugh. The man has completely lost the plot, he wasn't able to deal with any of the arguments people came out with. Especially telling how he signed off when people started pointing out what socialists and trade unionists in Iraq are actually saying about the war and the occupation - obviously out of his depth
