Torture is US!

Scooter Meets his Customers

February 22nd sees the Dublin premiere of a film made by Scooter Twomey which takes a sideways look at the issues around rendition, torture and the complicity of the irish government. This film covers the adventures of our intrepid Guerrilla film maker, and long time Indymedia video contributer Scooter as he turns himself into a entrepreneurial master of war. Scooter Twomey endeavours to set up his own independent torture company in lieu of the CIA being banned from Europe for extraordinary rendition.

WINNER: *Made in Cork* – Cork Film Festival.
The Irish Examiner ‘Made in Cork’ Award, which celebrates local filmmaking, went to this film which depicts Ireland’s role in international torture through US extraordinary rendition.

Tom Archer (Head of Factual BBC) said ‘Noel had so many ideas and put so much work and energy into this film. It was a great idea for a film, worthy of Michael Moore, a genuine target and a funny way to satirize it… a series of stunts…each more manic than the last. A career awaits, but probably not in torture.’

This film is a must see from the point of view of the activists community who were involved in the anti-war fight, or for anyone who wants to see how blind the eye is that is turned towards making a bit of profit out of war.

Don’t miss the chance to see how our little island gets in on the act of turning a buck out of the US war machine.

This award winning film will be given its Dublin Premier on Friday the 22nd February – downstairs in the Teachers Club (36 Parnell Square) at 8.00pm.

Admission 10 Euro

Unwaged - Suggested donation 6 Euro

All money raised will go towards the costs of putting on this year's Dublin Anarchist Bookfair

Fcuks sakes, 10 squidds is a bit on the expensive side, isn't it? I mean I wouldn't pay that for a blockbuster in the Screen.

Consider the 10 Euro a Solidarity Price - as it says above money raised goes towards the cost of putting on this year's Dublin Anarchist Bookfair so it'll be 10 Euro well spent. For unwaged the suggested donation is 6 Euro

Looking at the Exif data (hidden in all digital photo's) I can confirm that the image in question was taken on
2005.02.23 @ 16:48 so there is no question that it is genuine.
It was run through Adobe Photoshop CS2 running on a Microsoft Windows System on the 2006.03.11 @ 14:14.
As best I can tell all that was done was to the image on it's journey through PS was the standard contrast colour etc . There are no layers nor has any external data been added or removed

Mr Lasso tool,

Feel free to check the files I have uploaded as proof that you are just being an ass.

/edit: the 2nd file I generated weighs in at over 10MB , I was looking at the pixels/contrast over their shoulders and I found nothing wrong. At best I can reduce it to about 1.5MB and upload it some where else because it's far to large for Indy to handle as an attachment.

Bascially - bring your own fiddle, bring your uillean pipes and your guitars because the Trad. session will be one of your own making.

We will also have a peoples republic of disco - where you bring along the song on a cd that you want to hear and it will be added to playlist - and you can bop to your hearts content.

We are dropping the admission cost to a suggested donation of a €5 but don't let that stop you giving more. We want to create a society where we do away with the concept and presence of money but
in the here and now - this Bookfair is costing in excess of €2,000.

So please come to the fund raiser and make it a fun night and help make it as successful as the last two have been.

"The website Narco News has revealed a US private security company is connected to a controversial Mexican police training video that showed officers practicing techniques critics say amount to torture. Two employees of the Florida-based company Risks Incorporated are seen in the video. One of the employees of Risks Incorporated, Jerry Wilson, is seen dragging a Mexican agent through his own vomit. Another employee of Risks Incorporated in the video is identified as Gerardo Arrechea, a Cuban Mexican who has ties to the anti-Castro militant group Commandos F4."
