All the bleeding hearts who marched in belfast last week supported violence in Northern Ireland for years are now condemning it else were. At this point talking is out of the question as Hamas ultimate aim is the total obliteration of the Jewish state so again i ask if faced with this threat what would be your response?

Firstly, Im not from West Belfast but know the area and some heads a bit, last time up there was @ Divis flats in August...
Anways. First thing in your story is to find out why 8000 rockets were being sent in, for what reasons. After bloody years a ceasefire of sorts was in place, then that was broken by Isreal, not Hamas, Israel, Hamas retaliated (to quote Israeli state website earlier in the war). It has been pointed out by people working hard in the area that Hamas are not seeking the total obliteration of the Jewish state and were approaching a peaceful 2 state solution, when Isreal countered their "Peace offensive". Much of this truth has been covered by Israeli and others propeganda, see below for backup to the claims. I hope this answers your question
1 - A massacre is being carried out in Gaza
2 - Israel broke the cease fire
3- Hamas are willing to agree on 2 state solution along 1967 borders
4 - Israel is using illegal war fare techniques
5 - Israel is blocking independant media into to Gaza to confirm critical issues

I would probably kill over 1100 people, over 400 of them children and leave more than 4500 injured - seems like the right answer!!
In answer to King Kai's "What would you do ..." question: my answer is - I would try to stop the rockets.
And to do that, my first move would not be to fortify the resolve of the attackers by killing and maiming hundreds of their young children, some yet unborn. It would be to find a mediator I trusted to locate the attacker's leaders and try talking to them.
Individually the people of Gaza have nothing left to loose. Every part of their living is being systematically destroyed by a state that is hell bent on removing the need to co-exist with them. That is genocide.
History shows us that this is a strategy that will ultimately destroy the aggressor. The people of Gaza know that, even as they burn and writhe in agony beneath the cruel white phosphorus. Israel, it seems, hasn't yet figured it out.
Hamas did not fire 8000 rockets during the ceasefire and are not committed to the destruction of Israel according to Sir Jeremy Greenstock the prominent UK Jewish lawyer and former advisor to Tony Blair Hamas is a national liberation movement.
He also believes that Hamas and the Israelis can learn a lot from the northern peace process and says that Israel broke the ceasefire not Hamas.

Al Mezan Human Rights have given their figures for the casualties of Slaughter in Gaza. As of two days ago when the over all death toll was estimated at just under a thousand , Al Mezan says that only 137 of those were fighters , the rest of those killed , a staggering 850 (86%), are defenseless civilians.
Projecting those figures to today with the death toll now at 1150 we can extrapolate that 990 of that number are civilians with 160 fighters out of a total of an estimated 17000 - 20000 fighters possibly in the strip.

Al Mezan Center's monitoring revealed that the IOF has escalated its attacks on civilian targets. Until today, the vast majority of the casualties are non-combatants. Israel i fear will never be at peace, With 200 million arabs surrounding it and all hostile at one time or another even after Hamas is defeated or peace is made with the Palestinians someone else will take their place. Is it any wonder they react like they do. I intend to take a holiday in Israel this year to show my support for its people in the face of such a threat. Long live the state of Israel.
