French police have punctured Channel migrants' boats at sea for the first time in a change of tactics. If they discovered knives this week, just think what will happen when they discover deportations.

Jeremy Corbyn is launching a new hard-Left party, an ally has announced ? but the man himself is "furious". Has the People's Front of Gaza already fallen out with the Gazan People's Front ? a new record for the Left?

Elijah Smith -in an English Jail for Resisting the Bombing of Gaza!

category international | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Wednesday June 03, 2009 12:52author by Solidarity Report this post to the editors

He's in there for us, we're out here for him!

Consider writing a solidarity letter/postcard to Elijah Smith - in an English jail for resisting the bombing of Gaza!

Elijah Smith remains in jail in England as a result of the nonviolent decommissioning action at EDO Arms Company in Brighton during the recent Israeli bombing of Gaza.

EDO provides components to Israeli F16's that were being used extensively over Gaza at the time of the action. 6 Bristol based anti-war activists entered the company's premises and nonviolently decommissoned EDO.

3 other Brighton based activists were also arrested and are due to go to trial in Brighton on the same date - October 26th 2009. The other 8 good folks have since been granted bail, Elijah remains in prison on remand.

EDO Decommissioner Elijah (James) Smith has been moved again to another
prison.

Elijah (James) Smith was transferred to Elmley Prison in Kent around
Friday 22nd January and will probably remain there until March.
Letters of support remain important as he’s likely to be a bit short of
visitors now.

Note: the Bristol support campaign for the Bristol EDO Decommissioners
continues to send Elijah £15pw, but other donations always welcome!
