In these times of austerity, Brexit and right-wing populism, these questions are crucial for those who value democracy and equality. Can we avail ourselves of expertise on the economy and at the same time avoid accepting elitist ideologies? How can we understand the role of the media in this process? The network will work to represent environmental views at local authority level.

They are currently inviting interested people to attend their first meeting which will take place in Trinity College on the 24th of January.

To commemorate the eight anniversary of the Israeli ‘Operation Cast Lead’ attack on Gaza, and to highlight Israeli’s ongoing brutality coupled with the cruel and illegal siege of Gaza, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) is calling on people to gather at 2pm on Saturday 31st December at the Ha’penny Bridge, Dublin to attend our annual New Year’s Eve vigil for the people of Palestine, especially those in besieged in Gaza. Please bring Palestinian flags if you have them.

For our last scheduled screening of 2016 we have two amazing films. The first "The Ghosts of Jeju" brings us to the island of Jeju in South Korea. The second "How they Brainwashed my Dad" tells of the effect of US "hate radio" on listeners, mainly of the white middle-aged variety.
