This year’s Academy will take place in Dublin between June 17th and 19th and is completely free of charge for 15 selected applicants. The weekend is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 25 who have a passion for social justice. Animal rights group appeal to Irish filmgoers to boycott Water for Elephants due to Cruelty.
A Video released today by Animal Defenders International shows the elephant that appears alongside Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson in the new film Water for Elephants, being beaten and electric shocked during training.
We in AFAR are now urging the General Public to boycott this film in IRELAND.

The 6th Anarchist Bookfair will take place in Dublin the weekend of 14th May 2011 at Liberty Hall, Eden Quay. We have a full schedule of meetings planned and a varied range of book stalls from a host of anarchist and radical publishers and organisations. Doors open at 10am and the first meetings start at 11:30 so forgo the weekend lie-in, grab a coffee and come on down! Morgan Kelly has done it again. He has cut through the Nonsense coming from our government and the media and got to the core of the matter. This article is the best summary of our current state of affairs in regard to the banking debt and our future that I have seen to date. The current monthly meeting starts with bacon, egg, sausages, black pudding, potato bread, pancake, brown sauce, orange juice, toast, tea. Some of our members may even commence in the luxury of corn flakes, milk. The starting time is 10.00 tomorrow morning and the venue is The Strand, Omeath.
