The targeting of tunnels by Israeli airstrikes has restricted the flow of food and fuel into Gaza. ( http://www.unrwa.org/etemplate.php?id=1507)

Few shops remain open and the UN has warned of an impending water crisis. There are reports of bombing campaigns purposely targeting irrigation wells. The Ministry of Health in Gaza is out of 40 per cent of essential medicines and running low on basics like bandages and syringes. (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/ove....html)

Aside from performing his poetry, Remi will also give a short informative lecture about the social and political role culture plays in Palestinian resistance to Israeli apartheid and occupation.

The event will take place on Thursday 29th November, beginning at 7pm in the Teachers’ Club, 36 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1. Entry is free (donations are welcome), but spaces are limited so come early to avoid disappointment.

As the Gaza conflict rages on, the Palestinians demand for human rights and return to their homeland continues for many outside of the occupied territories.
Millions of refugees scattered throughout the Middle East live in refugee camps rife with violence, extreme poverty and no support or assistance. This twinned with getting stuck in the crossfire of many host-country conflicts such as Syria, Lebanon and Iraq make their situation even more intractable. When the opportunity to work does open up, the same people are greeted with more exploitation in trying to make a livelihood.
We widen the lens away from Gaza to see what life is like for Palestinian youths growing up in Beirut, Lebanon.

Manila, Philippines - Akbayan Party strongly and categorically condemns the Israeli armed forces’ (navy and air force) constant bombardment and shelling, numbering above 100, of the Gaza strip, hosting more than 1.7 million people in one of the most densely-populated areas in the world. Despite its claims of engaging in surgical operations against militant and ‘terrorist’ elements within Gaza, Israel’s air raids and naval shelling have contributed to rising casualties among civilians, including journalists and children, caught in the firing line.

Upholding anarchy and revolutionary syndicalism, the CNT engaged to fight for the abolition of capitalism and the installation of libertarian communism. It's objective, past and present, remains the cohesion and organization of a proletarian majority which is considered being the only efficient way to exert pressure in the course of the struggle between classes and enables the CNT to attain the goal it had set at its foundation. read full story / add a comment
