Some socialists would claim that Iran is goverened by a radical anti-Imperialist regime. However the way Iran treats asylum seekers shows that the Iranian government is just as racist as the US when it comes to immigration. The article below was written by a member of the Communist Party of Iran (MLM).

A campaign to kick out Afghan refugees in Iran is continuing unabated. Between late April and late June, the Islamic Republic of Iran rounded up more than 100,000 Afghans working in Iran and dumped them on the other side of the border.

An allegation of disgraceful behaviour has been made against a leading member of the English SWP. To clarify what actually occurred n indepebndent investigation will be required. Here is an extract of an article from the Weekly Worker, 12 July 2007.

This year’s Marxism was marred by a disgraceful physical assault by SWP national organiser Martin Smith. On July 7, the second full day of Marxism, Socialist Workers Party national organiser Martin Smith physically assaulted comrade Simon, a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain and the Tower Hamlets branch of Respect.

Prior to the recent Dail election, the one constant prediction had been of very large gains for Sinn Fein. In the event, the party made a modest gain in its vote share, from 6.5% to 6.9%, a credible gain in absolute votes from 120,000 to 140,000, but failed to win any new seats and suffered the high-profile loss of Sean Crowe in Dublin South-West. read full story / add a comment

We don't know at what stage the branch davidian group of fundamentalist christians of mount Carmel in Waco, Texas crossed the line of extremism. Most people don't remember what the suspected crime was which brought the US federal agencies complete with tanks and psychological weaponry to lay seige to the compound & demand its leader David Koresh to surrender. Was the illegal fully automatic weapons which neighbours professed to hear or the rumours that Koresh had taken unto him as wives all the females (some barely adolescent) in the compound to mother his children? Few will tell you that the Oklahoma bombing of a Federal social security office by Timothy Veigh & others as revenge for the Waco massacre was first atttributed to Islamic fundamentalists. We now know the FBI regretted the crises as soon as the charred remains of the children were brought out of the rubble. Musharraf's attack on the Lal Masjid or Red Mosque of Islamabad is comparable. read full story / add a comment

The mainstream press is full of stories but for ONE BIG exception; a FAILURE the proportions of which promise to sear the pages of history. The criminal intervention and the consequent holocaust and humanitarian disaster that is Western Interventionist Iraq! The media is at pains to avoid this story for obvious reasons -- it participated in the original ruse and deception upon which a full-scale military invasion was launched. The list of war criminals includes the name of Rupert Murdoch as he clearly carries equal responsibility with Bush, Cheney, Blair, Howard and the conservative forces that support them. War crimes arrests must therefore extend to Murdoch and other responsible parties – Murdoch is damned by his own words, delivered in numerous speeches and addresses to fellow conservative criminals. read full story / add a comment

IrishRepublican.net has stepped into the spotlight again. We believe, as republicans, that music plays a vital role in our struggle. Each song tells a story, of an ambush, a republican martyr, or a famous event that has passed us by. We have taken to this belief, and established an online radio station, Irish Republican Radio. Irish Republican Radio currently has several DJ's, and we broadcast 24/7, bringing you songs of struggle, songs of history and martyrs and the odd bit of Ceili. We hope you enjoy the Radio, as well as learn something from it. We also operate a requests system so that we play what you want!
