Some 40 people took part this lunchtime in the march from the top of Grafton street to the Greek embassy as part of the International Day of Resistance and Solidarity. Leaflets proclaiming that ;Our lives do not belong to the state' were distributed and the banners unfurled. On arrival at the Greek embassy we observed that the frontage had been splattered with red paint and at least one window had been broken sometime previously. We will be calling on the Egyptian government to end its complicity in the siege of Gaza and to use its influence to push for the permanent opening the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt. The Defence Lawyers of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda allege "manipulation of the ICTR by member states" and a "cover-up" of RPF crimes which has "been the root cause of millions of deaths in Rwanda, the Congo and the Great Lakes region since the RPF invaded Rwanda with the help of Uganda in 1990. Police accountability will only occur when our demands become loud enough to be unavoidable. State violence must be resisted at all levels be it in the form of the police or more stealthy in the form of the cutting of vital public health services.
